Fear

Sometimes its that pain you get in the middle of the night that keeps you tossing and turning in every which direction. That pain that you can feel throughout your whole body. It weighs you down like a ton of bricks being compressed onto your chest all at once. You feel as if you simply can’t breathe. That feeling that everyone is against you. That feeling that you aren’t good enough and whatever you do can never measure up. We call that feeling fear. Fear of failure, fear of disappointment, fear of loneliness, fear of rejection FEAR. Fear can hold us back from so much. Fear is that voice in your ear that is constantly telling you, you can’t. But guess what? YOU CAN.

Lately I have had countless sleepless nights. I am up tossing and turning playing scenarios in my head of what the next days hold and what can go wrong. I stress about my future and if what I’m doing is worth it or a waste. What if I decide that what I’m studying isn’t for me? What if I have to start all over? All these thoughts flood my mind and it seems as if I can’t even think clear.

In times like these it’s so important for me to look at the bright side. There is SOOOOO much to be thankful for and we might not even realize it because we are to busy living in fear.

My favorite verse to remember during this time is Proverbs 31:25

“She is clothed with dignity and strength. And she laughs without fear of the future”

The verse often gets overlooked because of the popularity of its nature but when you think about it truly is one of the most powerful verses. I encourage you if you are having a bad day to remember this verse and know that because of God you have the strength to overcome ANYTHING!
